Simple IPv4+IPv6 setup for Gentoo?

#1

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a simple (single server) IPv4+IPv6 setup that works for Linux Gentoo?

I’ve followed the guide at:
https://documentation.online.net/en/dedicated-server/network/ipv6/prefix

To the best of my abilities, but yesterday I lost the ipv6 route server -> internet and I have no idea why.
(It’s back on after a net.eth0 restart, but I can only assume my setup is currently incorrect.)

To anyone who uses gentoo, I would be very thankful if you could post an example of a working “single server” configuration.

My current config (with actual values removed):

/etc/init.d/net

modules=“iproute2”
config_eth0=“IPV4/24 IPV6/48”
routes_eth0=“default via IPV4_GATEWAY”
dns_servers_eth0=“8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 2001:4860:4860::8888 2001:4860:4860::8844”
/etc/init.d/net

/etc/dhcp/dhclient6.conf

interface “eth0” {
send dhcp6.client-id MY_DUID;
}

/etc/init.d/dhclient6

GNU nano 4.2 /etc/init.d/dhclient6
#!/sbin/openrc-run

depend() {
before net
}

ssd() { start-stop-daemon --exec /sbin/dhclient “$@” ; }

start() {
ebegin “Starting dhclient ra6”
start-stop-daemon --start --exec /sbin/dhclient --pidfile /var/run/dhclient6.pid – -nw -pf /var/run/dhclient6.pid -cf /etc/dhcp/dhclient6.conf -6 -P -v eth0
eend $?
}

stop() {
ebegin “Stopping dhclient ra6”
start-stop-daemon --stop --exec /sbin/dhclient --pidfile /var/run/dhclient6.pid
eend $?
}
