pfSense and IPv6 configuration in 2020

#1

Hello,

I’m currently trying to setup pfSense inside of Proxmox to route my traffic and also to provide DHCP to all VMs.

IPv4 is working great so far, but I can’t get IPv6 working.
I’ve already tried this https://community.scaleway.com/t/pfsense-and-ipv6-configuration-solved/3253 and some other configurations found on Google, but I was never able to ping any IPv6 address (always timeout -> packet loss).

This is my network configuration on the hypervisor (Proxmox):

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

auto eno1
iface eno1 inet manual

auto vmbr0
iface vmbr0 inet static
		address IPv4_IP
		netmask 255.255.255.0
		gateway IPv4_GATEWAY
		bridge_ports eno1
		bridge_stp off
		bridge_fd 0

iface vmbr0 inet6 manual

auto vmbr3
iface vmbr3 inet manual
		bridge-ports none
		bridge-stp off
		bridge-fd 0
iface vmbr3 inet6 manual

The pfSense VM has vmbr0 assigned as WAN and vmbr3 assigned as LAN.
The IPv6 configuration in pfSense is the same as here (https://community.scaleway.com/t/pfsense-and-ipv6-configuration-solved/3253) except I’m using my DUID (for /56 prefix).
LAN isn’t working:
-> Track Interface results in no IPv6 assigned and
-> Static IPv6 results in no connectivity as mentioned above

Could anybody help me or has similar problems?

Many thanks!

Friendly Regards
Nico
