This page shows you how to spawn a WordPress application in seconds.

The WordPress application comes with the following packages: nginx,mysql-server,php5,php5-cli,php5-fpm,php5-mysql,php5-gd,php5-mcrypt,pwgen

WordPress is a popular, free and open source blogging tool and a content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL.

Working with the WordPress application will significantly save you time and effort as WordPress is installed and configured.

There are four steps to deploy the WordPress application

  • Deploy WordPress
  • Open the mail ports to send e-mail
  • Configure WordPress
  • Login and start using WordPress

Step 1 - Deploy WordPress

Before starting, click the “Create Server” button in the control panel.

You will land on the server-creation page where you must input basic information for your server:

  • The name of your server
  • The tag you want to assign to it (Optional). Tags let you organize your servers, you can assign any tag to each server.

After inputting your server basic information, you have to choose a starting application for your server. On the Applications tab, select WordPress. The server will be created with a ready to use WordPress.

Click the “Create Server” button. This action starts your server. In a few seconds, the WordPress application will be ready to use.

Step 2 - Open the mail ports to send e-mail

To avoid spam, remote mail ports cannot be reached from our infrastructure by default. As WordPress requires to send mail, we need to open these ports.

On the left panel of the Control Panel, click on “Security”, you will land on the security-groups page. Click the “Create Group” button and input the security group name and description.

Then, on the WordPress security group, set “Block SMTP” to No.

Back to the server view, click the “Show” button to display advanced options and select the security group you previously created. Restart your server to apply the changes.

Step 3 - Configure WordPress

When your server is running, you can see the server’s IP address in the server list on the control panel. Copy this IP address and paste it in your favorite browser.

On the page you land, fill-in the WordPress information and click the “Install WordPress” button.

The installation takes few seconds.

Step 4 - Login and start using WordPress

On the login page, input the username and password you set previously and click the “Log In” button

You are now connected to your blog and can start using it!
